Start: May 5, 6:00 AM PT | Cutoff: 125 hours

The 2025 Cocodona 250 is off to a wildĀ start. Through the first 77 miles, we’ve already seen bold moves, shifting leads, and early signs of overreach.

šŸŒ§ļø Weather Report

Rain rolled in early — temps dipped to 53°F, with wet trails and cooler-than-expected conditions slowing a few runners and complicating the terrain. It’s expected to dry out tomorrow, but for now, it’s muddy, messy, and unpredictable.

🚨 Current Leaders (Mile 77.1)

šŸ„‡ Courtney Dauwalter – Yes, you read that right.Ā Courtney is not just leading the women’s field — she’s leading everyone. Through 13h 41m, she’s taken just 24 minutes of rest, running 97% of the time. Smooth. Calculated. Ruthless. @courtneydauwalter

🄈 Dan Green – At mile 76.4, he’s having an incredibly consistent day with the least rest in the top 3. He’s been gaining ground since the halfway mark of the day. @danisgreen

šŸ„‰ Haroldas ā€œHarryā€ Subertas – The early leader has started to fade slightly, now sitting 3rd at mile 73.2. He ran hard early and skipped multiple aid stations — and it may be catching up to him (49 minutes of rest already banked). @harry_subertas

Close behind:

  • Ryan SandesĀ (73.0 mi): The experienced South African is pacing perfectly, resting just 20 minutes. @ryansandes

  • Rachel EntrekinĀ (72.9 mi): She’s 5th overall — with 98.8% run time. One of the most efficient races we’ve seen today. @rachel__entrekin

  • Pau RiusĀ (71.5 mi): Still in the fight, but starting to show signs of slowing after 33 minutes of rest. @pau_rius

šŸ“‰ Who’s Fading

  • Michael McKnight: Sitting at 63.2 mi, about 14 miles off the lead.

  • Jack Scott: Was in the top 3 earlier but has now fallen to mile 62.9 with a significant 1h 50m of rest. Could be tactical—or a red flag.

šŸ”„ What to Watch Overnight

  • Will CourtneyĀ extend her lead — or will Dan or Ryan reel her in while she sleeps?

  • Can Harry recoverĀ or will his aggressive start lead to blow-up?

  • Rachel EntrekinĀ is quietly having a massiveĀ day — we’ll be watching if she can hang in the top 5 overnight.

  • First signs of DNF attrition may start appearing by morning as the fatigue of night one settles in.

Next major milestones:

  • Aid Station: Whiskey Row (Mile 90.7)

  • Big climb: Casner Mountain looms after Sedona

šŸ“² We’ll be tracking overnight and back with a morning update if anything big happens. For now, Courtney is making this her race, and the chase pack better be ready.

Stay tuned. Stay locked in. And keep moving forward.
