The overnight storm delivered.

On Day 2, the Cocodona 250 proved exactly why it's one of the most unpredictable ultra courses in the world. Leads changed. Legends fell. The front pack stretched. And one runner quietly started closing in.

🔺 Leaders as of 1d13h

🥇 Dan Green – 174.0 mi @danisgreen

He’s back on top after briefly giving up the lead to Ryan Sandes overnight. Dan's strategy has been a blend of patience and power: 89.3% run time and just under 4 hours of rest through nearly 175 miles. The only question now is whether he can hang on.

🥈 Ryan Sandes – 172.6 mi

Still right there. The South African icon has been smooth and tactical. His 92.4% run time and sub-3-hour rest shows he’s racing to win, not just survive.

👑 Rachel Entrekin – 166.8 mi (1st Female, 3rd Overall) @rachel__entrekin

An absolute clinic so far. Rachel hasn’t just led the women’s race wire-to-wire, she’s remained top 3 overall. She’s doing it with a ridiculous 93% run time. Nobody else is this steady.

🚑 Major Withdrawals

Courtney Dauwalter (DNF at Mile 108.3) @courtneydauwalter

After leading for most of Day 1, Courtney slowed dramatically overnight and eventually withdrew early Tuesday due to stomach issues. It’s her first DNF in a 200+ mile race. Her team confirmed she’s okay and grateful for the support.

Jack Scott (DNF at Mile 90)

The Winter Spine champ exited with a hamstring injury sustained around mile 52. He fought for nearly 40 more miles before calling it.

✨ Who’s Gaining?

  • Edher Ramirez – 162.6 mi – 95.2% run time, 6.1 mph avg speed. Minimal rest. Eyes on him.

  • Michael Versteeg – 162.5 mi

  • DJ Fox – 162.5 mi

🏆 Women's Podium Battle

Behind Rachel, the women’s field is heating up:

  • Lindsey Dwyer – 139.4 mi (2nd Female)

  • Sarah Ostaszewski – 131.7 mi (3rd Female)

  • Georgia PorterShelby FarrellKalie Demerjian all bunched in the 125–130 range.

Expect movement here overnight.

🌧️ Weather Impact

Rain and hail early Tuesday made sections slick and technical. Conditions have since cleared but more rain is possible through Jerome and Sedona. The mid-pack has been battling mud and colder temps all day.

🌋 Next Up:

  • Runners hit the technical descents around Jerome tonight

  • Sedona comes into play tomorrow

  • Mount Elden looms for anyone left standing

More overnight carnage to come.
